Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s dream run at the box-office continues even as the second week begins, but not without a few hiccups. After a glorious extended weekend to open with, the film saw sharp falls in collections throughout the first week, closing collections on Thursday at Rs 172.82 crore, the second highest this year after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 184.62 crore), but not nearly meeting the expectation of possibly notching the highest week one total of all-time. Since there were no other big-ticket releases on Friday last, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo had a chance to score, save for competition from the Bond franchise’s latest release, Spectre. Opening week two on a low note with Rs 5.50 crore on Friday, the film picked up some pace, earning Rs 6.70 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.20 crore on Sunday. The second weekend total stands at Rs 20.40 crore, which is good but not enough. The total domestic collections now stand at Rs 193.22 crore, with a high possibility to touch Rs 200 crore by the end of the week. The international market has responded exceedingly well to the film, with the overseas earnings at Rs 85.50 crore after 11 days. Source : filmfare
